U.S. Bachelor’s degree (or foreign equivalent) in Electrical Engineering, Engineering Technology, or closely-related field, and two (2) years’ experience as an Electrical Engineer or other closely related occupation involving powertrain CNC equipment set-up and adjustment. Must also have two (2) years of experience with all of the following: metal cutting process and machine field programming, debugging, and setup; and machine field installation, alignment, and geometric verification which includes all of the following: centering of the clamping fixture to a rotation unit; verification that the fluidics installations (lubrication, hydraulic, pneumatic, and coolant) are correct; optimization of the clamping process and the positioning of the part to be machined; verification that the machine’s alignment and configuration conform to the design specifications for perpendicularity, straightness, and orientation in the work zone, analyzing test results and modifying design, assembly and set-up; assuring tool quality, stability, and repeatability of the positioning; adaptation of the CNC program to each specific part being machined; fulfillment of the machining cycle time commitment; integration with other elements of the line such as automation, conveyors, robots, gages, and part marking stations; mechanical adjustments, which guarantees statistical stability and precision of the machining processes, in conformance to customer’s specifications. Domestic travel required 2 weeks per month to customer locations throughout Eastern US. International travel required 3 weeks per year to Spain.
