Job Overview
We are currently looking for a Electrical/Electronics Technician to join our team in Ludington.
Monitors and maintains electrical/ electronic control circuitry for machines and machine tools in assigned area.
Performs routine maintenance and provides emergency electrical/electronic response on all machines and equipment, diagnoses source of problems or potential problems, and maintains or repairs as needed.
Provides technical assistance and supports other maintenance members; serves as resource to engineering and management.
Schedule: 6:00am-2:30pm, Monday-Friday. OT schedule: 6:00am-4:30pm and some Saturdays (flexible)
Essential Functions
Diagnoses each situation, determines course of action and repairs or updates machines/equipment.
Analyzes, troubleshoots, and repairs electrical/electronic production and support equipment to reduce equipment downtime.
Recommends improvements for electrical/electronic functions of PLC/CNC automated equipment and machinery.
Plans, lays out, and performs all bench and machine operations to construct, alter, repair, and retrofit intricately designed programs. Install and/or remove utility requirements for assets.
Test runs machine/equipment to determine effectiveness and completeness of electrical service or repairs.
Provides project leadership on major installations or revisions of machines and equipment. Plans and schedules approved long-term improvements.
Designs and builds control panels to support plant and company goals. Designs and writes programs; operates simulator; installs, tests, and troubleshoots programmable controller.
Creates and maintains documentation.
Performs preventative maintenance on machines and electrical equipment to keep machines and equipment in good worki
Using technology systems, creates work requests and work orders, obtains needed parts in-house or orders through tool crib, and obtains historical work order information.
Bends and runs conduit throughout plant(s), both indoors and outdoors.
Routinely contacts suppliers or manufacturers on part information, repair issues, improvements, and shipping instructions.
Reviews internal engineering and vendor proposals involving electrical diagrams for new and/or reworked equipment to provide input for approval.
Maintains up-to-date electrical diagrams/ documentation for PLC/CNC and Ladder Logic machinery and equipment in assigned area.
Creates and completes work requests and work orders, sources parts from tool crib, and obtains historical work orders information. Maintains documentation of equipment; completes all appropriate paperwork.
Rotates through department work centers based on business need.
Works overtime as needed.
Performs additional responsibilities as requested to achieve business objectives.
Do you meet these qualifications?
EDUCATION
Formal education/college degree in electronic or electronic technology field preferred; military experience/education considered.
Journeyman status certification updated within the last three years.
State of Michigan license for electrical work required.
Four years related experience in electrical/electronic control circuitry, including PLC/CNC systems troubleshooting and repair; electrical maintenance experience, including technical electronic control diagnosis and repair.
WORK REQUIREMENTS and EXPERIENCE
Programming capability in robotics, CNC, or PLC required.
Must maintain up-to-date technical knowledge of state-of-the-art equipment within industry.
Ability to obtain and maintain powered industrial truck certification.
Ability to obtain and maintain Michigan driver license.
