Work involves the technical leadership of the Vehicle Hardware team of body interior, body exterior and chassis engineers supporting the Ford Racing vehicles.
Body Exterior Systems include the design and release of hoods, fenders, facia systems, black trim and grille systems from studio inceptions to production at suppliers and assembly plants.
Body Interior Systems include the design and release of seats, steering wheel, hard-trim and interior appliques from studio inception to production at supplier and assembly plants
Chassis Systems include design and release of frames, suspension arms, spring & shocks, wheels & tires and brake hardware.
Chassis Systems also include system architecture, road load cascade and brake development.
Work involves the technical leadership of the Connected Vehicle Software team of electrical systems, electrical control module, software development, features development, and electrical integration engineers supporting the Ford Racing vehicles.
Electrical Systems include the is definition of all the 3-4 dozen module requirements into vehicle electrical systems to validate compatibility from initial layout to assembly plant launch.
Electrical Control Module Engineering include the design and release, cascading of functional specifications, software structure and device transmittals & validation.
Software Development include design and validation of code to meet functional and customer requirements, work planning and support of calibration efforts.
Feature Development include translation from customer requirement to cascade ECU & software requirements through to validation prior to production.
Electrical Integration is the management of multiple vehicle programs with various levels of modules and electrical systems architecture to meet program timing milestones.
In addition to demonstrated overall Vehicle Hardware and Software engineering experience and problem-solving skills, applicants must possess a passion for performance and strong interest in technology. Applicants will be required to interface with teams that include Ford Racing Vehicle Engineering, Core Ford Hardware and Software Engineering Organizations and several Ford Production Facilities and Chassis Tier 1-3 Suppliers offering numerous opportunities to expand technical knowledge in a wide area of automotive technologies, systems, and components.

Regulatory sign-off on brake systems.
Leveraging Ford Core Chassis team for TDR on designs
Electrical & Software Engineering
Electrical Systems & Integration Systems Engineering
Device transmittal and schematics.
Issue resolution on electrical systems interfaces
End of Line Validation on Ford Racing Vehicles
Software planning to support program milestones
Leverage the Base Program Electrical Systems teams to establish quality systems.
ECU D&R, Software & HIM & Features Development
Define customer require electrical systems interfaces and features to meet expectations
Define and document feature requirements & cascade to functional organizations.
Supplier selection & and development of FMA & Control Plans for modules
CAE and Physical testing evaluation planning and execution on time via bench & vehicle.
Leverage Ford and Supplier Methods on module and software development.
Lead the cost and weight targets for the Hardware and Software Engineering team.
Lead innovation of these systems that meet enthusiast customer expectations.
Lead the Ford Racing Vehicle Hardware and Software Engineering delivery of engineering program gateways with high level of engineering excellence for design failure mode analysis, analytical analysis of designs for capability and resolution of issues with problem solving methods for sound root cause analysis.
Lead transfer of technology and methods from the Ford Racing Production Vehicle to Competition Vehicle and Ford Racing Competition Vehicles to Production Vehicles.
Deliver technical project presentations to senior management including results and accomplishments, conclusions and recommendations, and lessons learned.
You'll Have...
BS degree in Engineering required.
Engineering / Business MS degree
Minimum of 15 years of experience in Automotive OEM program delivery
5 years as Engineering Manager
Strong leadership skills with ability to work with multiple partners and suppliers, and willingness to work in a fast-paced environment with high responsibility
You May Also Have...
Working understanding of Functional requirements, failure mode effects, causes, severity and detection methods (DFMEAs)
Ability to develop clear working level documents and management presentations as well as clear/concise communication skills.
Ability and willingness to travel to both Ford and supplier domestic and foreign locations.
