Responsible for providing engineering support to new program launch activities related to supplier chain management, including completion of NPDS responsibilities; work as part of a cross-functional team with Nemak Product Engineering, Advanced Manufacturing Engineering, and Program Managers, ensuring all program-related milestones are achieved within responsible suppliers; provide additional engineering support to other suppliers, foundries, and plants as requested, ensuring optimal quality customer satisfaction; provide engineering support to corporate New Program Management during supplier launch activities, ensuring optimal feasibility and minimal downtime; lead regular supplier program reviews and vet supplier actions, identifying potential risks in timing and quality, and report to the Program Manager to develop and implement solutions that fit best according to the new program timeline and feasibility; utilize APQP, quality assurance, SPC, GD&T, ISO 9001, IATF 16949, VDA, aluminum metallurgy, Lean Manufacturing, SAP, AIAG, and 8Ds to perform duties; ensure component supply to vehicle structural key areas, ensuring continuous program launch activities; travel to suppliers to review launch activities, PPAP status, and conduct auditing to best provide engineering support; use corporate Statistical Process Control (SPC), Advanced Quality Process (AQP) tools, and metrics to proactively identify, develop, and implement corporate improvements to the Supplier Quality and Supplier Quality tools and processes; promote the use of SPC and continuous improvement techniques at suppliers to assist them with reducing variability and achieving optimal process control; provide engineering support to suppliers to effectively execute corporate Corrective Action Requests (CARs), along with appropriate problem-solving tools; follow up on CARs in collaboration with the Plant Quality Department, ensuring complete and effective root cause analysis and corrective action implementation as needed; perform periodic audits of Supplier Quality Systems, following ISO 9001/IATF 16949 and VDA6.3 methodology, ensuring continued supplier conformance to the corporate quality system requirements; collaborate with the supplier on 8Ds, using proven problem-solving techniques; and conduct a review of PPAP packages and provide approval for the plant.

Salary: $123,157 per year;

Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronic Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or in a related field of study (will accept equivalent foreign degree);
Experience: Five (5) years in the position above, as a Product Engineer, as a Quality Engineer, as a Resident Engineering Manager, as an SQA Specialist, or in a related occupation;
