Job Description:
Schnabel Engineering is eager to supplement and expand its current service offering to our clients in need of civil and geotechnical engineering services, particularly as they relate to investigations, planning and design for the mining, waste, power and transportation sectors. Qualified candidates will be well-rounded, organized problem solvers with excellent communication skills and an interest in solving technical challenges. The Marquette, MI office of Schnabel Engineering, is seeking a full-time mid-level Project Engineer to join our growing engineering practice. We are looking for a motivated candidate with an interest in working on our nation's critical infrastructure, a desire to develop both field and analytical skills, and a desire to be part of a strong team of geologists and engineers.
Job Responsibilities:
Assist in the growth of a sub-business unit in the field of mining design and construction to serve new and existing clients in our target market areas
Serve as a leader in support of our existing mining and civil teams
Strengthen the firm's existing mining capabilities
Increase cross-selling opportunities across business units
Required Skills/Experience:
Minimum 10 years of experience in mining, geotechnical or civil engineering design and construction
Licensed Professional Engineer or ability to obtain licensure within 1 year
Underground MSHA Trained
Minimum 5 years' experience in underground mining
Desired Skills/Experience:
Managerial/mentoring experience
Experience with project management software (such as Deltek VantagePoint)
Experience with Microsoft Teams and SharePoint software
Experience with Deswik and Leapfrog
Other Requirements:
Ability to pass a background check which may include criminal history, motor vehicle record and credit check
Ability to pass a pre-employment screening
The compensation range for this position is between $73,000 to $110,000.?Compensation for this position may vary based on geographic location and other factors. We remain committed to providing competitive and equitable compensation to all employees, regardless of their location.
