SUMMARY
Operates one or more machines that coil compression, extension and torsion springs from round and flat wire or machines that automatically punch, stamp, and form flat stock and round wire depending on the work center assigned to.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Prepare and load raw materials into various types of machines.
- Measures springs and/or clips for conformance to specifications using a variety of measuring devices as called out in the control plan.
- Adjust machines as necessary to ensure consistent production.
- Notifies the Set-up Technician when a machine malfunctions.
- Stress-relieve parts as needed per customer specification.
- Performs SPC and quality audits on parts, as well as last piece layouts.
- Maintain all required documents necessary for the process being run on assigned machines.
- Maintains equipment as directed.
- Select, retrieve, and check out material to maintain production using proper warehouse procedure.
- Complete labor reporting accurately each shift.
- Follow all company policies, procedures, and work instructions.
- Participate in and support departmental and company wide continuous improvement activities.
- Perform any and all other reasonable tasks assigned by the department leader.
SKILLS AND ABILITIES
- High school diploma or GED.
- Basic math skills.
- Prior machine operation experience preferred.
- Attention to detail is desired.
