We're seeking a skilled Mechanical Assembly Technician to join our team and support the assembly, troubleshooting, and installation of advanced thermoforming and paper production machinery.
Hours:
Monday-Friday, 7:30 AM to 4:00 PM
Day-to-Day Role
Assemble complex mechanical sub-assemblies and full production equipment.
Perform basic wiring and electrical assembly per schematics and wire lists.
Troubleshoot mechanical, pneumatic, hydraulic, and electrical issues with limited supervision.
Install machines and kits at customer sites; travel may be required.
Read and interpret blueprints, bills of material, and technical manuals.
Disassemble, inspect, and repair assemblies as needed.
Test and evaluate completed machines for functionality and quality.
Operate machining equipment (mill, lathe, drill press) and use precision measuring tools (ID/OD/depth micrometers, dial indicators, height gauges).
Train and mentor junior technicians; promote teamwork and safety.

Core Skills & Qualifications
The ideal candidate must possess all of the following:
Mechanical Assembly Tech II-
Three (3) years' experience in production assembly work
Experience in reading and understanding assembly and machine shop prints
Proficient in the use of various inspection tools such as depth micrometers, 6" scale, square head, dial calipers, and telescopic gauges
Experience in identifying different threads and their applications, as well as drilling & tapping and the installation of threaded inserts
Experience in identifying grade, type and size of fittings and fasteners and their use in different applications
Demonstrate the maintaining of relationships between components through the checking of perpendicularity and parallelism
Read and understand electrical schematics and hardwire assemblies from kits to full machines
Read and understand hydraulic schematics
Proficient in the safe use of power and hand tools
Experience in utilizing technical manuals, and other written materials to effectively complete assigned projects/tasks/jobs
Able to start/run production machinery and comprehend signal flow from machine to machine
Demonstrate the processes involved in the manufacturing of Dart components to include; defective materials, returning parts to the crib, documenting pull shortages, ordering prints and generate an engineering change notice
Able to safely operate overhead lifting equipment (overhead crane license required)
Able to utilize PC to generate work orders and bills of material, find parts and location in crib, find components and tools by using the alpha system, and backtrack component part activity to find parts in process
Excellent verbal and written skills necessary in order to communicate intricate job-related processes to internal customers
Ability to travel domestically to assist technician at customer facility
Preferred Skills & Qualifications
Associates degree in mechanical or electrical technology or related field
Mechanical Assembly Tech III-
Five (5) years' experience in production assembly work
Experience in reading and understanding assembly and machine shop prints, also have ability to draw parts or modifications clearly and understandably
Proficient in the use of all types of precision measuring tools
Experience in identifying different types of threads and their applications with the ability to drill, tap and install all types of threaded inserts
Understand and demonstrate the correct use and application of different grades of torque values of all bolts and fittings, bearings, etc.
Read and interpret electrical schematics, hydraulics schematics, and pneumatic specifications
Possess fabrication skills including machining, welding, plasma cutting, sheet metal, and wiring to produce completed machinery
Assemble and correctly integrate electrical and mechanical components to specifications
Possess a working knowledge of the processes involved in the manufacturing of Dart components
Understand documentation, initiate bills of material, check product kit structure, check for engineering changes
Demonstrate the processes involved in the manufacturing of Dart components to include; defective materials, returning parts to the crib, documenting pull shortages, ordering prints and generate an engineering change notice
Proficient in the safe use of power and hand tools
Excellent verbal and written communication skills necessary in order to persuade and influence decision making of individuals, groups, or work teams, and to explain difficult issues
Ability to travel domestically to assist technician at customer facility
Preferred Skills & Qualifications
Associates degree in Mechanical or Electrical technology or related field
Eight (8) years' of production assembly work
Computer skills enabling generation of work orders and bills of materials, checking back orders, locate current work order from part number, back track for activity to find parts in process, find components and structure
