57593 Lead Product Strategist
We are the movers of the world and the makers of the future. We get up every day, roll up our sleeves and build a better world -- together. At Ford, we're all a part of something bigger than ourselves. Are you ready to change the way the world moves?
Enterprise Technology plays a critical part in shaping the future of mobility. If you're looking for the chance to leverage advanced technology to redefine the transportation landscape, enhance the customer experience and improve people's lives, this is the opportunity for you. Join us and challenge your IT expertise and analytical skills to help create vehicles that are as smart as you are.
In this position...
The Lead Product Strategist will navigate high degrees of ambiguity to transform a complex, legacy application landscape into a streamlined, data-driven "North Star" roadmap. You will not just plan; you will engage in product discovery at scale-treating the Industrial System portfolio as a product itself. Your mission is to identify where we must invest, where we must modernize, and where we must aggressively rationalize to reduce technical debt and increase business agility.
This position offers the successful candidate an opportunity to be at the heart of a large scale modernization and transformation initiative. You will lead the development and execution of technology strategies that will shape Ford Motor Company for many years to come.
What you'll do...
Cross-Functional Product Leadership: Partner with Enterprise Architects and Business Owners to ensure the "Product Vision" for Industrial Systems is technically sound and cyber-secure.
Outside-In Benchmarking: Bring a product-led perspective on how industry leaders are simplifying their industrial stacks to gain a competitive edge.
Product Discovery & Ambiguity Synthesis: Ability to take vague business needs and a fragmented system landscape and synthesize them into a clear, prioritized product roadmap.
Outcome-Based Roadmapping: Move beyond "project delivery" to define and track Value-Based Outcomes (e.g., reduction in system complexity, improved data interoperability across the ecosystem).
Data-Driven Portfolio Rationalization: Conduct deep-dives into the current landscape using data (cost-to-serve, usage metrics, and technical debt) to build a rigorous case for application decommissioning or consolidation.
Executive Storytelling: Prepare data-rich presentations that simplify complex technical landscapes for leadership, driving alignment on vision, strategy, modernization, roadmap operational updates, organizational accomplishments and difficult rationalization decisions.
You'll have...
Demonstrated experience applying product management principles (discovery, prioritization, and MVP thinking) to large-scale, complex technology portfolios.
-Strong analytical skills with the ability to use data to tell a story and justify strategic shifts.
-Deep experience across at least two major industrial domains (e.g., PLM and Manufacturing, or Supply Chain and Quality) to understand the "connective tissue" of the ecosystem.
-Proven ability to create structure where none exists and lead through influence in a highly matrixed, global environment.
-A track record of successfully identifying and executing the decommissioning of legacy systems to fund modern growth.
You may not check every box, or your experience may look a little different from what we've outlined, but if you think you can bring value to Ford Motor Company, we encourage you to apply!
As an established global company, we offer the benefit of choice. You can choose what your Ford future will look like: will your story span the globe, or keep you close to home? Will your career be a deep dive into what you love, or a series of new teams and new skills? Will you be a leader, a changemaker, a technical expert, a culture builder...or all of the above?
