MAIN PURPOSE: Ensures proper functioning of the organization’s information systems and is responsible for leading all information technology, communication systems, and assists with operational technology (OT) across the mining operation.
MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES/ACTIVITIES:
- Provide direction, guidance, and support to Supervisors and other direct reports for effective daily execution.
- Promote teamwork, communication, and alignment across shifts and team.
- Coach Supervisors in leadership, planning, and performance management.
- Recognize and reinforce desired behaviors and cultural standards.
- Encourage innovation, ownership, and employee participation in problem-solving.
- Ensure effective two-way communication between employees and site leadership.
- Demonstrate visible safety leadership in the field.
- The site senior technology leader driving and identifying areas of continuous improvement in IT services
- Supervise employees of the IT department in accordance with organizational policies and goals
- Support Talon Information Technology team as needed
- Proactively communicate and collaborate with business partners and internal business areas to analyze information needs
- Oversee the performance and reliability of all IT including Network, servers, firewall health and compliance, cloud services, helpdesk service levels, and end-user computing
- Oversee and assist with cyber security policies and controls for both IT and OT environments and risk management
- Leads IT team in working with site technical services to assure reliability in underground communication systems (LTE, Wi-fi)
- Ensure compliance with regulatory, safety, and data protection requirements
- Recruit, coach, and develop employees in accordance with company technology strategy, policies and goals
- Act as an agent of technical change, proactively communicate and collaborate with business partners and internal business areas to analyze information needs, architect solutions, allocate resources, deliver projects and deliver a stable, secure environment
- Oversees SAP ERP system management and maintenance
- Solid understanding of OT principles and supports OT personnel as needed
- Perform other duties as assigned
EDUCATION, QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE:
- Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Engineering, Computer Science, or related discipline is preferred
- ERP and/ or SAP experience preferred
- Process control and/ or data historian experience preferred
- Minimum of 3 years of experience supervising an IT organization preferred
- Solid understanding of cybersecurity principles

- Report all incidents; including but not limited to injuries, near miss, community interactions and impacts, environmental impacts, spills, unsafe work practices, etc.
