Position Summary
The Utility Worker will be responsible for maintaining the cleanliness, functionality, and safety of our facilities, equipment, and surrounding areas. The general responsibilities of the position include those listed below, but Crown may identify other responsibilities of the position. This role requires a proactive individual who can perform routine maintenance, assist with repairs, and ensure a well-maintained environment. In the event of an emergency, the individual may be called to support necessary tasks in association with that emergency.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform routine preventive maintenance services and repairs in one or more skill areas, including minor plumbing, carpentry, painting, machine servicing, electrical repairs or installations.
- Thoroughly cleans machines and machine parts, removing parts and reinstalling as necessary.
- Ensure all LOTO activities adhere to internal safety protocols and legal regulations.
- Complete required LOTO checklists, logs, and reports accurately and promptly.
- Oils and lubricates moving parts on machines to ensure effective performance.
- Records and reports damage, worn, or broken parts.
- Prepare accurate reports documenting work performed.
- Performs other tasks such as changing light bulbs, changing filters and other tasks not requiring a licensed skilled trades person or journeyman.
- Inspects equipment to use to ensure proper setup and alignment; performs basic and routine adjustments and maintenance.
- Monitor equipment and report any malfunctions or safety concerns.
- Keeping all work areas clean and organized.
- Transport supplies and materials as needed.
- Adhere to safety regulations and company policies.
- Maintain accurate records of completed work orders and inventory.
- Other duties as assigned.
Required Skills & Qualifications
- High school diploma, GED or equivalent experience preferred.
- 2+ years of experience in logistics, industrial cleaning, packaging operations, or related experience.
- Familiarity with Lock Out/Tag Out procedures
- Excellent organizational and communication skills
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, physically demanding environment
- Forklift certification and experience preferred
- Ability to provide clear directions and respond accordingly to employees.
- Good attention to details
- Must have basic phone and computer skills
- Knowledge of and proficiency in all OSHA and local requirements related to all assigned work.
- Must have visual acuity to read English instructions, operate machines, and inspect the parts produced.

Physical Requirements
- Close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus, with or without corrective lenses.
- Significant walking or other means of mobility.
- Ability to work in a standing position for long periods of time up to 8 hours.
- Requires physical activity including lifting, bending, and standing for extended periods.
- Frequently lift up to 35 pounds and occasionally lift/move up to 50 pounds.
Working Conditions
- Industrial facility with exposure to cleaning equipment, chemicals, and moving machinery
- The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate to loud.
- Wear protective clothing and/or Personal Protective Equipment required by the work environment or government regulations.
