Quality Lead - Aerospace Manufacturing (Hourly)

The Adecco Permanent Recruitment team is partnering with an Aerospace Manufacturing client in the Metro Detroit area to hire an hourly Quality Lead . This is a hands-on, floor-focused leadership role for an experienced quality professional who leads by example, supports operators daily, and helps drive safe, compliant, and efficient quality processes.
This position reports to the Quality Manager and functions as a senior-level quality resource and process lead within assigned inspection and quality areas.
Core Responsibilities
Maintain individual responsibilities within Inspection , acting as a senior employee with appropriate credentials, or serve as a Process Lead as assigned by the Quality Manager
Become fully familiar with the work scope of assigned areas and provide technical assistance or hands-on support when operators are absent
Assign daily workloads to operators and support department scheduling needs, including daily and weekly overtime coordination
Execute and support cross-training to ensure operators are capable of performing all processes accurately and efficiently
Assist with the implementation, evaluation, and training of employees on quality processes and procedures
Conduct layered process audits during operations to ensure compliance and process effectiveness
Act as a liaison between Quality and other departments, including Engineering, Planning, Production, and Manufacturing
Provide performance-related input to supervisors for operator evaluations
Ensure daily compliance with HS&E, 6S, Quality, and Manufacturing Systems , escalating issues as needed
Follow all quality procedures and work instructions and make recommendations for process improvement
Maintain Gemba boards , generate quality metrics, and drive completion of action items
Support Safety and Environmental Risk Assessments and Safety Observation programs
Support Quality Engineering activities as needed, including FAIs, nonconformances, concessions, and inspections
Qualifications
Demonstrated leadership traits in an hourly or lead capacity
Strong verbal and written communication skills
Ability to foster a positive, team-oriented work environment
Excellent organizational and people skills
Experience working cross-functionally in a manufacturing environment
Familiarity with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
Working knowledge of Quality Control / Quality Assurance principles
Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and quality documentation
Experience in aerospace or regulated manufacturing environments preferred
Education & Experience
High School Diploma required
Associate's degree in a technical field preferred
Prior experience in a manufacturing quality or inspection environment strongly preferred
Pay Details: $32.00 to $35.00 per hour
