POSITION SUMMARY
This position is responsible for providing customer service in the bookstore. Duties include answering phones, providing information to customers, operating cash registers and credit card machines, and processing financial aid charges within guidelines. Additional responsibilities include assisting customers with finding books and supplies, receiving merchandise shipments, checking in and shelving items, packing and shipping returns, processing online orders, and offering support across other bookstore functions.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE, BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO, THE FOLLOWING:

Process customer sales transactions

Operate cash registers, credit/debit machines, and refund registers

Handle buyback transactions and data entry for financial aid charges

Provide customer service to students, faculty, and staff including:

Answering phones
-
Processing internal charges, desk copy requests, special orders, and web orders

Assisting with locating books, supplies, and merchandise
-
Receive and inventory incoming books, supplies, and clothing

Unpack, price, and stock merchandise

Provide clerical support as assigned

Offer coverage for staff vacancies and special events as needed
Required Qualifications
-
Minimum technology skills
-
High school diploma or GED
-
Less than one year of customer service experience
