Job Title: Golf Course Crew Member
Job Summary:
Golf Course Crew Members perform various maintenance tasks to keep the golf course and surrounding areas in pristine condition. They work under the supervision of the Golf Course Superintendent or Assistant Superintendents.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
- Course Maintenance:
- Mow greens, fairways, roughs, and tees.
- Rake bunkers and ensure they are properly maintained.
- Water and trim grass and plants around the course.
- Apply chemicals to greens, fairways, roughs, and surrounding landscaped areas.
- Equipment Operation:
- Safely operate power equipment, machinery, and hand tools.
- Perform daily maintenance and cleaning of all equipment used.
- General Groundskeeping:
- Maintain clubhouse areas and surrounding grounds.
- Perform additional tasks such as trimming, edging, and weeding.
- Safety and Compliance:
- Adhere to safety standards and use protective equipment as required.
- Ensure all chemicals and tools are handled safely.
- Reporting and Communication:
- Report any damages or issues to the Golf Course Superintendent.
- Communicate effectively with team members to ensure smooth operations.
Skills and Qualifications:
- Physical Stamina: Ability to perform strenuous activities, including lifting up to 50 lbs.
- Knowledge of Landscaping: Familiarity with landscaping and golf course maintenance practices.
- Attention to Detail: Ability to follow instructions accurately and ensure all tasks are completed to a high standard.
- Teamwork: Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
- Communication Skills: Strong verbal communication skills to interact with team members.
Education and Experience:
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
- Previous experience in golf course maintenance or landscaping is beneficial but not required.
Work Environment:
- Working outdoors in various weather conditions, including extreme heat and cold.
- Exposure to moving mechanical parts, airborne particles, and chemicals.
