INSTALL TECHNICIAN
COMSTOCK PARK, MI
NATURE OF WORK: The Install Technician reports to the Install Supervisor. Lear designs, builds, and installs equipment for Lear plants globally. Our portfolio includes ASRS systems, automated conveyor, pallet elevators, stackers/destackers, pallet turntables, automatic labelers, shipping trailers, and build line integration. At Lear, we are always looking to incorporate new technologies into our seating plants.
EXAMPLES OF WORK PERFORMED (The following duties are typical for this classification. However, any one position may not include all the duties listed, nor do the examples cover all the duties which may be performed.)
Follows health, safety, environmental regulations, and safety protocols (safety harnesses, fork truck, scissor lift, boom lifts, LOTO)
Builds mutual trust, respect, and cooperation among all team members
Follows tasks given by supervision/management
Unload and move equipment into position, per layout
Mount electrical devices, install cable tray, run sensor cabling, 24VDC circuits, 480VAC circuits, airlines, and ethernet to the equipment
Make connections into the MCP
Work with controls team to debug systems
Read and analyze prints, layouts, and timelines
Review drawings and verify site inventory
Improve installation efficiency
Contribute and build to team atmosphere
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, and ABILITIES:
Must be a team player. Outward Mindset and inclusive team building techniques
Expert experience with forklifts, rigging, and hand tools
Knowledgeable of automated equipment wiring (AC/DC, Ethernet)
Self-driven and willingness to work long hours during installations, if required
Understanding of facility requirements (i.e. air, ethernet, 110VAC, 480VAC, water)
Ability to travel globally up to 80% of the time
Ability to read 2D mechanical and electrical prints
PHYSICAL ABILITIES:
Ability to sit, stand, and kneel for long periods of time.
Ability to concentrate on a given tasks and not be distracted.
Ability to frequently stoop, bend, kneel, crouch, crawl, climb, reach, twist, grasp, and make repetitive hand movements.
Ability to lift, carry, and/or move objects weighing up to 50 pounds.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Ability to take direction
Self-driven and a quick learner
