Job Overview
We are seeking a reliable and skilled Truck Driver to join our transportation team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for safely operating various types of trucks, including tractor-trailers and Straight Truck while ensuring timely delivery of goods. This role requires a strong understanding of route driving, automatic transmission operation, and adherence to safety regulations.
Responsibilities
- Operate trucks equipped with automatic transmissions and possibly a refrigerated trailers.
- Execute route driving efficiently to meet delivery schedules.
- Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections to ensure vehicle safety and compliance (Samsara).
- Possibly have to load and unload cargo using forklifts or pallet jacks only when necessary.
- Maintain accurate records of deliveries, mileage, and fuel usage.
- Follow all traffic laws and safety regulations while on the road.
- Communicate effectively with dispatch regarding any delays or issues encountered during transport.
Qualifications
- Valid commercial driver's license (CDL-A) with a clean driving record.
- Must be 23 years of age.
- Experience in truck driving, particularly with tractor-trailers and Straight trucks.
- Ability to navigate routes effectively and efficiently.
- Previous experience operating refrigerated trailers is a plus.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety practices.
- Ability to lift heavy loads as required during loading and unloading processes.
