Job Summary
We seeking an experienced hands-on accountant who wants to take your potential further on the job on our team. You will be responsible for accurate and timely management reporting, general ledger oversight, and operational support and analysis. Experience with product cost controls best practices is a bonus.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
- Maintain and reconcile general ledger accounts, including accruals, pre-paids, inventory, fixed assets and cost of goods sold.
- Manage A/R and A/P activities.
- Prepare and analyze financial statements.
- Assist with operational accounting related to food services: inventory accounting, production cost-tracking, margin/cost analysis, variance analysis, spoilage/waster tracking.
- Partner with Operation Leadership to provide meaningful financial insights: cost drivers, KPIs)
- Assist with budgets, forecasts and perform variance analysis for all lines of business.
- Support internal and external audits
- Perform monthly bank reconciliations and quarterly balance sheet account reconciliations.
- Mentor accounting junior staff and collaborate with administration staff
- Participate and lead system implementations, process improvements, automation initiatives.
- Complete ad hoc financial analysis ad required (make vs buy, pro forma for new business, profitability analyses.
Qualifications
- BA in Accounting, finance or related field; CPA preferred.
- 5+ years progressive accounting experience in food services/manufacturing/distribution. Experience with inventory and product cost accounting is a strong plus.
- Strong understanding of GAAP and cost accounting; proficiency with ERP/accounting systems and advanced excel skills. Power BI experience is a bonus.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving and organizational skill; high attention to details.
