The Hilo Driver is responsible for supporting injection molding operations through
the safe and timely movement of finished goods and returnable packaging. This
position ensures production lines remain supplied with empty returnables, resin, and
required assembly components to prevent interruptions and maintain steady
production flow. The Hilo Driver maintains clear and organized work areas, follows
all safety and quality requirements, and provides additional support to production
and technical teams as needed.
3rd Shift. This shift provide an additional $.50 premium.
Job Responsibilities:
• Remove finished products (totes, bins, pallets, gaylords, racks, etc.) from injection
molding presses and staging areas in a safe and timely manner.
• Deliver empty returnable containers to assigned production lines based on
schedule and demand to support uninterrupted production flow.
• Transport finished goods to designated locations (WIP, warehouse, shipping,
inspection, etc.) as required.
• Verify labels, part numbers, quantities, lot information, and container
condition/status prior to moving product.
• Support line changeovers by clearing previous product/returnables and staging
correct containers, packaging, and materials for the next run.
• Review the production schedule and check molding machines to confirm
sufficient material is available and identify the correct resin for upcoming orders.
• Prepare, stage, and supply resin to molding machines; replenish resin and
required assembly components at the lines as needed.
• Ensure all materials and equipment (containers, hoppers, dryers, material carts,
etc.) are properly identified/labeled and traceable.
• Maintain clear, safe travel routes and keep aisles, exits, and emergency access
points unobstructed at all times.
• Conduct daily forklift/Hilo inspections and report defects or concerns
immediately; remove unsafe equipment from service when required.
• Notify the Lead Hand or Supervisor of equipment or material-related issues;
initiate a work order when necessary.
• Complete required documentation accurately, including material usage and lot
number traceability.
• Maintain a high standard of housekeeping and cleanliness in all areas (including
preventing resin spills and promptly cleaning resin from presses and floors).
• Communicate effectively with Production, Quality, and Shipping/Receiving to
align on priorities and ensure timely material/product movement.
• Perform all job duties in a safe and healthful manner, complying with all plant
safety rules, traffic policies, and Axiom Plastics standards.
• Ensure compliance with applicable quality systems and procedures (including
TS/IATF requirements, as applicable to the role).
