Job Summary
Utility Contracting Company is seeking an experienced Fiber Optic Splicer to install, splice, test, and troubleshoot fiber optic cable in aerial, underground, and outdoor environments. This role requires travel to project sites and a strong commitment to quality and safety.
Responsibilities
- Perform fusion splicing on single-mode and multi-mode fiber
- Test and troubleshoot fiber using OTDR and power meter equipment
- Install fiber in closures, cabinets, and panels
- Document splicing and test results accurately
- Follow all safety and job site requirements
Qualifications
- 1+ years of fiber splicing experience preferred
- Ability to produce low-loss, high-quality splices
- Experience with OTDR testing and fiber troubleshooting
- Valid Chauffeur's License required
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Willingness to travel and work outdoors in varying conditions
Travel Requirements
- Frequent travel required
- Overnight stays as needed
- Per Diem provided for eligible travel
