Financial Analyst

Trillium Staffing is now hiring a Financial Analyst for a direct-hire role in Midland, Michigan.
This position supports financial reporting, planning, and analysis across multiple entities. The Financial Analyst applies accounting concepts to support planning and control activities, provides analytical and forecasting support to leadership, contributes to daily accounting workflows, and prepares periodic financial reports for assigned program customers.
Schedule: Monday – Friday, full-time (40 hours per week)
Salary: $70,000 – $80,000 annually (based on experience)

Job Duties
Financial Reporting & Close:

Post journal entries and accruals
-
Reconcile accounts including bank, intercompany, payroll, and clearing accounts

Ensure accurate and timely month-end close

Oversee expense reporting
Financial Analysis & Reporting:
-
Prepare concise financial summaries for assigned program customers
-
Respond to ad-hoc financial reporting requests
-
Prepare multi-entity consolidated monthly financial statements and management reporting packages
-
Deliver key metrics and variance analysis versus budget, forecast, and prior periods

Maintain decision-support models and dashboards
Cash Flow & Forecasting:

Build and maintain a 13-week direct cash-flow forecast at entity and consolidated levels

Partner with AP/AR to update expected receipts and disbursements

Model scenarios and identify funding risks or constraints

Prepare weekly liquidity summaries for leadership
Budgeting & Cost Accounting:

Participate in development of multi-entity and departmental budgets

Perform general cost accounting, including labor and burden rate calculations

Complete standard cost updates in the ERP system

Assist with annual and rolling forecasts in partnership with the Director of Finance
Additional Job Duties

Support internal and external audits by preparing audit-ready workpapers, reconciliations, and schedules

Facilitate walkthroughs, sample testing, and timely resolution of audit observations

Utilize ERP and reporting tools (e.g., QuickBooks, Global Shop, Power BI, Excel) to automate reports and improve data quality

Contribute to ERP data hygiene and master data governance

Ensure GAAP compliance and document internal controls and accounting policies

Perform cross-functional ad-hoc duties and projects as assigned

Stay current on industry and regulatory changes

Streamline and automate reporting and forecasting processes

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance required

4+ years of relevant experience; public accounting experience preferred

2+ years of experience in manufacturing, laboratory/testing, or services environments preferred
