Description We are looking for a skilled Medical Receptionist to join our team on a contract basis in Clinton Township, Michigan. This position involves providing exceptional front desk support, coordinating schedules, and ensuring seamless communication between patients and staff. The ideal candidate will bring professionalism, strong organizational skills, and a patient-focused approach to the role.
Responsibilities:
Schedule and update patient appointments while maintaining accurate calendar availability.
Handle incoming calls, verify insurance authorizations, and confirm active coverage to facilitate patient scheduling.
Manage appointment cancellations, follow up with patients, and reschedule as needed.
Serve as a backup for reception duties, ensuring smooth operations during busy periods.
Respond to inquiries regarding departmental procedures, offering detailed explanations when necessary.
Operate office equipment, including computers, scanners, and copy machines, to complete administrative tasks efficiently.
Conduct outreach activities as assigned to support scheduling efforts and enhance patient engagement.
Maintain and update staff appointment schedules to ensure accuracy and availability.
Assist patients with trauma-related concerns in a supportive and empathetic manner. Requirements - Minimum of 3 years' experience as a Medical Receptionist in a healthcare setting.
Proficiency in patient scheduling and appointment booking systems.
Familiarity with medical front office operations and basic medical terminology.
Strong communication skills to address patient needs and resolve challenging situations.
Ability to confirm appointments and manage a busy schedule with attention to detail.
Competence in using office equipment and software for administrative tasks.
Reliability and adaptability to learn new processes quickly.
