Summary
As a member of Information Technology, the Business Intelligence Analyst is responsible for data reporting. Primary responsibilities include writing reports, dashboards, creating data sets, executing test plans and creating reporting documentation. Responsibilities and Essential Duties
* Create, design and execute dashboards/data visualizations and operational reporting using the campus software reporting tools. Including but not limited to WebFOCUS and SQL Developer
* Plan, create and support self-service data tools
* Document reporting specifications
* Prepare and execute test plans
* Review/understand university processes/procedures and make recommendations for improvements
* Provide occasional support outside of regular business operating hours including evenings and weekends.
* Maintain university data dictionary
* Prioritize work in line with institutional expectations
* Work independently and as part of a team
* Commit to learning about continuous improvement strategies and applying them to everyday work. Actively engage in University continuous improvement initiatives
* Apply safety-related knowledge, skills, and practices to everyday work
* Other duties as assigned
Required Education, Certifications, Licensures
* Bachelor's degree in business/data analytics, computer science, management information systems or technically related field or an equivalent combination of education and experience from which comparable knowledge and abilities can be acquired
Required Experience
* Demonstrated professional experience using a query based reporting tool to create reports and dashboards (e.g. WebFOCUS or Tableau)
* Demonstrated professional experience and understanding of complex table joins and database query languages
Desirable Education and/or Experience
* Experience in an academic environment
* Experience using Oracle, Ellucian Banner, and/or Information Builders WebFOCUS
* Experience with data governance

* Demonstrated ability to analyze data, processes, and complex situations to determine a best course of action using problem solving and analytical skills
* Excellent organizational skills and ability to balance multiple priorities and objectives
