Ultra Manufacturing (USA) Inc. d/b/a Mitchell Plastics seeks an Account/Sales Manager in Sterling Heights, MI.
Duties: Review customer requests for quotation (RFQ) details, computer-aided design (CAD), product requirements and engineering specifications to prepare a quotation to include any and all piece price, tooling, engineering design and development costs; collect and compile quotes for any engineering changes; prepare and deliver technical presentations explaining products or services to existing and prospective customers; collaborate and support sales teams by translating customer’s functional requirements to technical specifications; use computer-aided design (CAD) and other engineering software for modeling, simulating, and analyzing complex mechanical, electronic, or other engineering systems; apply mechatronic/automated solutions to the transfer of material components or finished goods; conduct studies into the feasibility, cost implications for the design and development of automotive interior parts; plan and modify products to meet customer needs; maintain awareness of quality and engineering initiatives and policy changes, and inform appropriate company personnel; evaluate and benchmark engineering of automotive parts to provide ideas for research and development; ensure all pertinent engineering documentation is adequately maintained for customers in shared drive file format (statements of requirements, P.O.’s, LTA’s, presentations, emails); and maintain and report monthly on engineering quality scorecard for assigned customer, and work closely with the plant and quality manager to address and correct any quality issues affecting company’s scorecard.
Requirements: This position requires a Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Mechatronic Engineering or related field (or foreign education equivalent), plus 5 years of experience in technical sales or engineering for the automotive industry. The position also requires the following non-quantified skills/experience: interior automotive components; cost estimating for new projects (RFQ’s)and engineering change requests; development of engineering bill of materials; injection molding and tooling; customer portal applications; manufacturing process flows for paint lines, assembly lines, and welding secondary equipment; blow molding; packaging and logistics; CAD reading software; ERP software. Requires up to 10% domestic and international travel to client sites and internal manufacturing plants.
