The Adecco Permanent Recruitment Group is partnered with a leading Aerospace Manufacturing company in Metro Detroit to hire experienced CNC Vertical Lathe (VTL) Machinist for 2nd shift . This is a direct hire role offering long-term stability and growth.
Shift Information
Current Schedule (12-hour shifts until quotas are met):
- 2nd Shift: 5:00 PM - 5:00 AM
Future Schedule (8-10 hour shifts):
- 2nd Shift: 3:30 PM - 12:00 AM (OT ends at 2:00 AM)
Key Responsibilities
Operate CNC Vertical Lathe (VTL) machines - will also consider Horizontal Lathe experience
Run multiple machines as part of manufacturing cells when feasible
Machine hard metals including Inconel, Titanium, and Stainless Steel
Read and interpret operation sheets, symbols, and CNC programs
Use Fanuc controls and perform offsets as required
Load parts onto fixtures and operate hoists for machine loading
Utilize right-angle heads as needed
Work within tight tolerances (± thousandths)
Apply GD&T principles
Use precision measuring tools (calipers, micrometers, gauges, swing gauges)
Perform additional duties as assigned by leadership
Job Requirements
5+ years CNC machining experience in a manufacturing environment (Aerospace preferred)
Experience supporting major aerospace OEMs such as Pratt & Whitney, GE, Rolls-Royce
Strong math skills and ability to use calculators
Ability to read tool sheets and set up tooling
Ability to stand for extended periods and climb machine platforms
Willingness to work overtime as needed
Strong teamwork skills in a fast-paced environment
Unrestricted authorization to work in the U.S.
