Mackinaw Old Country Market dba Mackinaw Bakery & Café is seeking two (2) Bakers to work at 110 Langlade St. Mackinaw City, MI 49701. The position is full-time and seasonal during the dates April 1, 2026 – November 1, 2026.
The duties of the Baker are to weigh and measure flour, yeast, butter, eggs, and other ingredients using scales or graduated containers to prepare dough, batters or icing; Mix ingredients using automated equipment such as blenders and mixers; Bake and prepare a variety of food items according to standardized recipes and procedures, ensuring that each item meets food safety and quality controls; Apply icings, glaze, and toppings after baking to decorate products as necessary, ensuring that the presentation of baked goods are appealing; Maintain a clean and functional work area; Ensure that all products meet quality and safety standards; Clean and maintain baking equipment to comply with health/safety procedures; Manage inventory levels; Maintain a clean and hygienic work area in accordance with health/safety regulations; Must have a strong knowledge of baking techniques, pays attention to detail, and has the ability to work well under pressure; Must have a good knowledge of operating complex industrial mixing machines.
Employees will work Monday-Sunday an average of 35 hrs/wk. Must be able to work up to 7 hours per shift within the hours of 6:00 am to 2:00 pm any day of the week, days off rotate, shifts vary. No minimum education or work experience is required.
On-the-job training is provided by the employer. The employer will provide workers with all the tools, supplies, and equipment required to perform the job at no charge. Daily transportation to and from the worksite is not provided.
The wage is $15.39 per hour. All deductions will be made from paychecks that are required by law. No other deductions will be made unless agreed upon. Overtime is not available. Wages will be paid weekly on Monday, and the employer will use a single workweek as its standard for computing wages due.

The employer will reimburse the H-2B worker in the first workweek for all visa, visa processing, border crossing, and other related fees, including those mandated by the government, incurred by the H-2B worker. If the worker completes 50% of the work contract period, the employer will reimburse the worker for transportation and subsistence from the place of recruitment to the place of work. Upon completion of the work contract or where the worker is dismissed earlier, employer will provide or pay for worker’s reasonable costs of return transportation and subsistence back home or to the place the worker originally departed to work, except where the worker will not return due to subsequent employment with another employer. The amount of transportation payment or reimbursement will be equal to the most economical and reasonable common carrier for the distance involved. Daily subsistence will be provided at a rate of $16.28 per day during travel to a maximum of $68.00 per day with receipts.
In accordance with applicable Michigan state law, Earned Sick Time Act 338, the employer will provide earned sick time to employees. Employees will earn 1 hour of paid sick time per 30 hours worked, starting from their job start date, and may use it after 120 days. The amount of paid sick leave provided may vary depending on the size of the business.
Optional housing, located at 110 Longlade St, Mackinaw City, MI 49701 is available for rent by H-2B workers at a cost of $100 per week per worker. Use of employer-provided housing is not a condition of employment. If a worker rents housing from the employer, the employee will be asked to agree to have the rent deducted from their paycheck. Alternately, the employer will assist the worker in finding suitable housing that is within walking distance of the worksite.
