Position Overview: The Regional Maintenance Manager reports to the Director of Maintenance and is responsible for leading and coordinating all drone maintenance operations and activities within a designated region. This is a leadership role that operates in an environment where the problem, opportunity and strategy may not be defined. They use expertise and judgement to coordinate between the appropriate stakeholders, optimizing maintenance processes, ensuring adherence of regulatory, safety, and operational standards, while managing operations across multiple sites.

Position will be contingent upon successful completion of a DOT drug and alcohol screening. This position is subject to DOT random drug and alcohol testing. Federal law requires Amazon to determine an applicant's history of DOT drug and/or alcohol violation(s) or refusal(s) to test before hiring him/her into a safety-sensitive position, if applicable
Key job responsibilities
Leads, mentors, and supports drone repair technicians across multiple locations within the designated regions, fostering a culture of safety, compliance, and quality
Manage all aspects of the regional drone maintenance, including planning and execution, inspections, service bulletin incorporation, and component replacements in accordance with Prime Air and regulatory requirements
Responsible for scheduled and unscheduled maintenance at assigned commercial operation locations, ensuring all drones conform to design configuration and are in safe operating condition
Ensure accurate records of all maintenance activities, fleet status, and parts inventory
Manage maintenance facility operations including drones, support equipment, tools, and safety protocols
Work cross-functionally with technical and support teams to drive operational efficiency and innovation
Analyze operational data to identify system trends and recommend process improvements
Own regional fleet performance metrics and key performance indicators
Ensure adherence to FAA regulations and Prime Air directives and processes
Responsible for hiring, training, mentoring, and performance monitoring of drone repair technicians
This candidate is expected to work closely with engineering, flight operations, and other Prime Air teams to deliver on assigned responsibilities
Ability to travel extensively to support the operation
Basic Qualifications
5+ years of aircraft maintenance, aviation operations, quality, supply chain or logistics management, program management, or related professional or military experience
Experience developing and managing a high-performing team
Experience analyzing data to make business decisions
Experience working effectively across cross-functional teams and partnering well with people at all levels within an organization
Knowledge of FAA regulations 14 CFR Part 135/121, Safety Management Systems (SMS), and Workplace Health and Safety (WHS)
Preferred Qualifications
Bachelor's degree or above in Aeronautics, Operations, Business, Project Management, or Engineering - or equivalent Amazon work experience
FAA Airframe & Powerplant License or UAS maintenance technician background
Experience in the drone/aviation industry or a strong interest in emerging technologies preferred

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $78,500/year in our lowest geographic market up to $175,600/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
