Description
The Lead Janitor helps with overseeing cleaning practices of the laundry and cafeteria cleaners.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Clean building and office floors by sweeping, mopping, scrubbing, or vacuuming them
Gather and empty trash
Clean and supply restrooms
Clean windows and mirrors using soapy water or other cleaners; sponges
Clean furniture, walls, machines, and equipment
Mix water and detergents in containers to prepare cleaning solutions, according to specifications
Follow procedures for the use of chemical cleaners and power equipment
Move furniture, equipment, and supplies manually
Notify managers concerning the need for major repairs
Communicate shortage of supplies and equipment needed for cleaning duties
Additional responsibilities may be assigned
QUALIFICATIONS:
Some janitorial experience is preferred
Must be reliable and self-motivated
Must have reliable transportation
Time management skills is a plus
Must be able to work independently
