Must possess expertise/knowledge sufficient to adequately perform the duties of the job being offered. Expertise/knowledge may be gained through employment experience or education. Such expertise/knowledge cannot be “quantified” by “time”. Required expertise/knowledge includes:
- Experience in designing and developing wire harnesses or electrical components for electrical appliances, new appliance features and new appliances to the market.
- Experience working with suppliers related to wire harnesses, and other electrical components including lighting, switches, or sensors or any related to appliances.
- Experience in scoping, designing, and launching complexity reduction, cost and quality projects for electrical harnesses and components.
- Experience working in manufacturing environments.
- Experience utilizing the knowledge of UL/CSA/IEC standards for electrical harnesses and components in the appliance industry.
- Experience leading technical design reviews.
- Experience of the electrical systems on appliances.
- Experience in working with cross functional teams (Manufacturing, Quality, Marketing, Procurement, Hardware, Software, Codes) and global teams.
- Experience in Project management, developing and executing project Schedule, managing project activities, seeking alternative options/route with proper trades off identified, and risk management.
- Experience in debugging and problem-solving electrical issues due to wire harnesses, EMC failures, components failures or hardware and software failures.
- Experience developing documentations (wiring diagrams for electrical harnesses or technical specifications for electrical components) and testing procedures for validating and approving electrical components and wiring harnesses.
- Experience with the following tools: FMEA, DVP&R, A3s, APQP, Continuous Improvement, Systems Engineering, Business cases, Concept selection (Pugh Matrix), Decisions taken (Decision Matrix), Lean PD in previous projects; Windchill, SAP, IBM RQM, CodeBeamer, Smartsheets; Google sheets, docs, slides; 6 Sigma / Opex tools knowledge and application including DOEs, COVs, MSEs, Control charts, Process maps; CAD (navigate in 3D environment); and MAC interface, J-Flash, Labview.
- Practical Knowledge of electrical components including sensors, actuators, lighting modules and wiring harness.
