Proficient Services Inc. is seeking to fill Two (2) Landscaping Laborer (37-3011.00 - Landscaping and Groundskeeping Workers) temporary, full-time Peakload positions for April 1, 2026 - October 31, 2026. Worksite: 59456 Van Dyke Rd., Washington, MI, 48094 and multiple sites in Macomb and Oakland counties in MI.
Job Duties: Landscape and lawn maintenance for commercial and residential properties, including tree planting, sod laying, mowing, mulching, trimming, planting shrubs and flowers, weeding, watering, fertilizing, digging and raking. Mow or edge lawns, using power mowers or edgers. Trimming small trees, hedges, and shrubs from the ground. Spring and Fall clean-up, such as removing leaves and debris from landscaping beds, pruning shrubs and perennials, removing weeds and applying mulch to landscaping beds. Spring and fall clean up tools may include rakes, blowers, shovels, pitchforks, wheelbarrows, string trimmers, hedge trimmers, and hand pruners. Landscape or maintain grounds of property using hand or power tools or equipment. May drive crew vehicle to job sites, as needed.
Requirements: No education, training or experience required.
Special Requirements: Must lift/carry 50 lbs., when necessary. OT, Saturday and Sunday work required, when necessary. Must be able to perform physical labor outdoors for up to 8 hours per day in all weather conditions, including cold, snow, heat, and rain. Must be 18 or older. Must have a US driver’s license or the ability to get a US driver’s license within 30 days of being hired.
Terms and conditions of employment: $19.93/hr, 35 hours/week, Overtime available at
$29.90/hour. Mon-Friday, 7:00AM to 5:00PM Employees will be paid Weekly on Friday. Raises
and/or bonuses may be offered based on individual factors including work performance, skill, and tenure. Employer will use a single workweek as its standard for computing wages due. Workers will begin each day at the worksite address. They will then be transported, free of charge, to properties located throughout the area of intended employment, to perform duties. They will then be transported back to the worksite address at the end of each work day. On the job training available.
Other benefits provided and cost: Employer will make all deductions required by law and no
others without written consent from worker. The employer does not envision other workforcewide payroll deductions. Potential elective deductions to be pre-authorized in writing if applicable are as follows: If needed, employer will assist in arranging optional worker-paid lodging for hired foreign and non-local U.S. workers. Employer will deduct for the reasonable fair market value cost of rent and utilities based on number of occupants for workers who voluntarily elect to live in employer-offered housing, up to $150 per week. Employer will provide 10 tee shirts (long or short sleeved), 1 sweatshirt, hat, and first pair of work pants at no cost to the worker. Option to purchaseadditional uniform clothing which can be deducted from payroll. Employer will assist workers in securing board, lodging, or other facilities. In accordance with applicable Michigan state law, Earned Sick Time Act 338, employers are required to provide earned sick time to their employees. The amount of paid sick leave provided may vary depending on the size of the business.
Transportation, Subsistence, and Fees: The employer will reimburse an H-2B worker in the first work week for all visa, visa processing, border crossing, and other related fees, including those mandated by the government, incurred by the H-2B worker. From the place from which the worker has come to work, whether in the US or abroad, to the place of employment, if the worker completes 50% of the work contract period, the employer will provide advance payment for transportation and subsistence (including meals and to the extent necessary, lodging) from the place of recruitment to the place of employment. Upon completion of the work contract or where the worker is dismissed earlier, employer will provide or pay for worker’s reasonable costs of return transportation and subsistence back home or to the place the worker originally departed to work, except where the worker will not return due to subsequent employment with another employer. The amount of transportation payment or reimbursement will be equal to the most economical and reasonable common carrier for the distances involved. Daily subsistence will be provided at a rate of $16.28 per day during travel to a maximum of $68.00 per day with receipts.
Three-fourths guarantee: The employer guarantees to offer work for hours equal to at least three fourths of the workdays in each 12-week period of the total employment period.
Tools, protective clothing or other items: The employer will provide workers at no charge all
tools, supplies, & equipment required to perform the job.
