St. Ignace Inns Inc dba Days Inn & Suites is seeking eight (8) full time, temporary housekeepers to work during the period April 1, 2026 - October 31, 2026. The worksites are located at 1037 & 1067 N. State Street St. Ignace, MI 49781.
The Housekeeping personnel is responsible for keeping storage areas and carts well-stocked, clean, and tidy. Carrying linens, towels, toilet items, and cleaning supplies, using wheeled carts. Load linen and towels into and remove from washing machine, load linen and towels into and remove from Dryers, cleaning rooms, hallways, lobbies, lounges, restrooms, elevators, stairways, breakfast areas, pool area and other work areas so that health standards are met. Emptying wastebaskets, and transport other trash and waste to disposal areas. Sweeping floors, using brooms, mops. Replenishing supplies, such as drinking glasses, linens, writing supplies, and bathroom items. Vacuuming rugs, carpets, and dusting furniture. Sanitizing equipment and supplies. Observing necessary precautions required to protect guest property and report damage, theft, and found articles to supervisors. Sorting, counting, and marking clean linens and store them in linen closets. Washing dishes and cleaning kitchens, cooking utensils, and silverware. Must greet guests that you encounter during your shift with a friendly smile. This job requires continuous movement, regularly bending, lifting, pushing. Must be flexible, communicate effectively, speak and understand English, be a team player.
Employees will work Mon-Sun, average of 35 hrs/wk. Must be able to work any 7 hr shift within the hours of 8am to 6pm any day of the week, days off rotate, shifts vary. Weekends and holidays are required. No minimum education is required to perform the job.
On-the-job training is provided. St. Ignace Inns Inc dba Days Inn & Suites provides workers with all tools, supplies, and equipment required to perform the job at no charge. Transportation is not provided to and from the worksite.
The wage rate is $15.18 per hour. Overtime is not available. All deductions will be made from paychecks that are required by law. No other deductions will be made unless voluntarily agreed to by the employee. Wages will be paid bi-weekly on Friday, and the employer will use a single workweek as its standard for computing wages due.

The employer will reimburse the H-2B worker in the first workweek for all visa, visa processing, border crossing, and other related fees, including those mandated by the government, incurred by the H-2B worker. If the worker completes 50% of the work contract period, the employer will reimburse the worker for transportation and subsistence from the place of recruitment to the place of work.
Upon completion of the work contract or where the worker is dismissed earlier, employer will provide or pay for worker's reasonable costs of return transportation and subsistence back home or to the place the worker originally departed to work, except where the worker will not return due to subsequent employment with another employer.
The amount of transportation payment or reimbursement will be equal to the most economical and reasonable common carrier for the distance involved. Daily subsistence will be provided at a rate of $16.28 per day during travel to a maximum of $68.00 per day with receipts.
In accordance with applicable Michigan state law, Earned Sick Time Act 338, the employer will provide earned sick time to employees. Employees will earn 1 hour of paid sick time per 30 hours worked, starting from their job start date, and may use it after 120 days. The amount of paid sick leave provided may vary depending on the size of the business.
The employer will provide shared housing to the H-2B workers at a cost of $70 per week per worker. The housing is located at 1037 N. State Street St. Ignace MI 49781. This is optional and is not a condition of employment. In the alternate, the employer will assist the workers to find suitable housing within walking distance of the worksite.
