10 Line Cooks needed for temporary, full-time employment in Benzie County, Michigan.
Employment dates: 04/01/2026 to 10/31/2026.
Work hours/days: At least 35 hours/week, 9am to 5pm (may vary). Business operates 7 days a week. Typically workers are scheduled for 2 days off per 7 day period.
Wage: $17.50/hr. Additional pay possible based on performance. Overtime possible but not guaranteed and will be paid at $26.25/hr. (PWD P-400-25272-341459).
Pay frequency: The employer will use a single workweek as its standard for computing wages due. Workers will be paid bi-weekly.
Deductions: The employer will make all deductions from the worker's paycheck required by law.
Housing: Employer offers shared housing to active workers in cabin type units and will deduct $84 per person per week from the worker's paycheck for these expenses for workers who choose them. Daily transportation is provided to and from work for employees choosing employer provided housing. Living in employer provided housing is not a condition of employment.
Transportation: As required by federal regulation, the employer will arrange and pay directly for transportation and subsistence from the place of recruitment to the place of work, or will reimburse the worker for such costs, if the worker completes 50 percent of the period of employment covered by the job order. Upon completion of the work contract or where the worker is dismissed earlier, the employer will provide or pay for worker's reasonable cost of return transportation and subsistence back home or to place worker originally departed to work, except where worker will not return due to subsequent employment with another employer or where the employer has appropriately reported a worker's voluntary abandonment of employment. The amount of transportation payment or reimbursement will be equal to most economical and reasonable common carrier for the distance involved. Daily meals will be provided at a rate of at least $16.28/day during travel to a maximum of $68.00/day with receipts.
Visa fees: Workers will be reimbursed in the first workweek for all visa, visa processing, border crossing and other related fees, including those mandated by the government (except passport fees).
Three fourths guarantee: The employer guarantees to offer work for hours equal to at least three-fourth of the workdays in each 12-week period of the total employment period.
Sick Time: In accordance with applicable Michigan law, employees will earn one hour of paid sick time for every 30 hours worked.
Job Description: Prepare meals per guest order, using recipes and prepared instructions, with supervision. Perform basic prep for service, including sliced meats, vegetables, condiments, burgers, etc. Assist with cold food preparation such as salad bars, banquet presentations, cheese platters, side salads, dressings, parfaits, retail packaged salads and sandwiches, and amenity baskets. Use various kitchen equipment, including knives, mandolines, meat slicers, mixers, immersion blenders, and vacuum sealers. Stock and refill salad bars and hot buffets. Remove all food from serving lines at end of meal period. Store and properly handle raw and prepared foods and non-food supplies. Clean and sanitize kitchen equipment and work surfaces. Empty trash containers. Communicate inventory needs to supervisor.
Requirements: 12 months experience as a line cook, restaurant cook, chef, or head cook is required. Requires extensive standing, walking, lifting, and bending. Employer will provide workers at no charge all tools, supplies, and equipment required to perform the job. Employer will provide on-the-job training and orientation to enable workers to perform the required Line Cook duties in accordance with the employer’s standards and menu.
