Job Duties: A Nursery Worker performs a wide range of tasks related to the cultivation, harvesting, and seasonal protection of plants, trees, shrubs, and other vegetation grown in fields or containers. The role involves heavy manual labor such as planting, pruning, shearing, fertilizing, applying pesticides, potting, soil preparation, and loading or unloading plant materials. Workers also tag, identify, and pack plants for sales, control plant diseases, and wrap or bunch roots for shipment. Responsibilities extend to operating and maintaining farm vehicles and equipment, performing sanitation and maintenance around fields and buildings, mowing, trimming, and assisting with irrigation. They may direct seasonal workers, haul crops, and drive farm vehicles or trucks under 13 tons to storage or market, requiring a valid driver’s license if operating company vehicles.
Strict rules apply regarding safety, cell phone use, protective equipment, and compliance with random drug or alcohol testing. Workers must commit to the full employment period, have verifiable nursery experience, and be prepared to perform any assigned duties across crops and work sites, including soil conditioning, transplanting, equipment operation, and daily cleaning or maintenance.

Housing is group housing. If a female worker is hired, separate toilet, shower, and sleeping room will be provided. Family housing is not available. The provision of family housing is not a prevailing practice in the area of intended employment.

Transportation: Employer offers transportation at no cost to workers occupying Employer-provided housing to the worksite and return on a daily basis using any combination of van, truck and car depending on crop conditions and locations. Such transportation will be in accordance with applicable laws and regulations. Use of this transportation is voluntary. Workers are free to use their own transportation and are not required, as a condition of employment, to utilize any transportation offered by the Employer.
