The employee functions as a second-line administrative supervisor of a limited work area directing the activities of resident care staff. Assumes and maintains responsibility for the administration and programming of one patient care unit for an eight-hour period or coordinates and directs the nursing activities for two to four patient care units for an eight-hour period on the assigned shift. Coordinates and directs the activities of nursing staff including allocation, assignment and supervision of staff. These supervisors provide onsite clinical consultation, perform patient assessments, plan and monitor the therapeutic program, provide crisis intervention, problem solve and conduct staff meetings. Reports to the Assistant Director of Nursing and/or Nurse Executive.

Required Education and Experience
Education
Completion of a degree in nursing or nursing school educational program accepted for registered nurse licensure by the Michigan Board of Nursing.
Experience
Two years of experience equivalent to a Registered Nurse P11 or one year equivalent to a Registered Nurse 12 or a Registered Nurse Manager 12.

Possession of a master's degree in nursing may be substituted for one year of experience equivalent to a Registered Nurse P11; or, possession of a bachelor's degree in nursing may be substituted for six months of experience equivalent to a Registered Nurse P11.

Possession of a Michigan registered nurse license in good standing.
