Job Title: Class “A” Laser Operator
Basic Function
To position set ups and operate the laser cutting machines to produce products in conjunction with customer quality requirements.
Responsibilities
- Must be responsible for operating and processing parts according to customer requirements.
- Monitoring machine cutting performance.
- Ability to make program edits and read data accurately.
- Understands machine set up including: program retrieval, proper gases, proper nozzles.
- Understands start up and shut down procedures for laser machines.
- Understands how to read material sheet tags and determines material types and gages.
- Understands check concepts and inspects parts according to customer specs.
- Can accurately count and record production activity.
- Able to make minor repairs and maintain lasers as needed.
- Can perform laser cutting operations efficiently and effectively per specification.
- Can identify and communicate to management machine and quality issues as they arise.
- Understands, interprets and follows foreman’s report including priorities and start dates.
- Understands and demonstrates the 6 core behavioral expectations: Communicative, Motivated, Responsible, Dependable, Inquisitive and Accountable.
- Other tasks as requested.
Skills
- Have solid understanding of metal fab concepts and process
- Keen sense of attention to detail
- Must possess the ability to operate cranes, tape measures and calipers, hand tools and torch
- Must be able to interpret blue prints
- Must be able to regularly lift and move parts that may be heavy parts
- Great attention to detail and stress tolerance
- Must possess effective written and verbal communications skills
- Ability to work in a team environment

Experience
