Period of employment is temporary, from April 1, 2026 through November 30, 2026. This is a full-time position. We are located in Ferndale, MI. and service Oakland Co., MI. Work hours are Monday through Friday, 8 AM to 5 PM. Work schedules may vary with need and weather conditions. Must be willing to work evenings, weekends and holidays as needed. Wage rate is $19.80 per hour. Overtime will be paid at a rate of $29.70 per hour for work in excess of 40 hours per week.
Job entails standing, stretching, bending and climbing ladders. Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds. Will provide on the job training for all workers.
This job order has been placed in connection with the concurrent application for H-2B nonimmigrant temporary workers. The employer will not offer US workers anything less than the same benefits, wages and working conditions that the employer is offering or intends to offer or provide to the H-2B workers. The employer will not impose any restrictions or obligations on US workers that will not be imposed on H-2B workers. The requirements and qualifications for this position are consistent with the normally accepted qualifications and requirements for workers in the same occupation in the employer's area of employment. A single work week will be used in computing the wages due. Wages will be paid on a biweekly basis. All visa, border and other related fees will be reimbursed the employee the first work week of employment. The employer guarantees to offer work equal to three fourths of the work days for each 12 week period of the total employment period. If the worker completes 50% of the work contract period, the employer will reimburse the worker for transportation and subsistence from the place of recruitment to the place of work. Upon completion of the work contract or where the worker is dismissed earlier, the employer will provide or pay for workers reasonable return transportation subsistence back home or to the place where the worker originally departed to work, except where the worker will not return due to the subject employment with another employer or where the employer has appropriately reported the worker's voluntary abandonment of employment. The amount of transportation payment or reimbursement will be equal to the most economical and reasonable common carrier for the distances traveled. Daily meals will be provided at the rate set by the Department of Labor, currently set at, at least $16.28 per day during the travel to a maximum of $68 per day with receipts.
The employer will be responsible for transporting employees to and from the sites where work is to be performed.
Employer will make all deductions from the worker's paycheck as required by law. The employer does not intend to make deductions from the worker's paycheck that are not required by law. All tools and equipment to perform the job will be provided by the employer.
In accordance with applicable Michigan state law, Earned Sick Time Act 338, employers are required to provide earned sick time to their employees. The amount of paid sick leave provided may vary depending on the size of the business.
