Paraprofessional-Afterschool Program - Holt
Washington Woods Middle School- Holt, MI 48842 - Working with students in Grades 5 & 6
Key Duties & Responsibilities:
- Engage and assist students during academic enrichment activities.
- Assist youth with homework and provide support for individualized tutoring.
- Manage students in a safe and productive way.
- Conduct yourself in a manner to serve as a mentor and role model.
- Cultivates positive relationships with students, families, and fellow staff.
- Attends all mandatory meetings and completes all paperwork as required.
- Participates in 18 hours of professional development per year that meets licensing requirements.
- Performs duties in a manner that ensures compliance with Child Day Care Licensing rules and regulations.
- Ensures program operates in a way that follows industry quality standards and in accordance with the grant.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
In a typical shift, the majority of the job (4-6 hours) will be preformed while sitting, however, tasks
specific to some positions may require an employee to:
- Stand for up to 8 hours;
- Walk for up to a mile;
- Carry, push, pull, stoop and kneel;
- Frequently lift 1-10 pounds and occasionally lift 11-25 pounds.
In addition, an employee is required to:
- Hear at least quiet conversation (40 dBA) and communicate verbally in moderate volume
and speak in clear English;
- See with a corrected eyesight minimum of 20/40;
- Tolerate noise and contend with emotional people;
- Use a computer keyboard and mouse, telephone and office equipment.
