GIS Technician (1 position) - Starting Wage $17.25/hr.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Assist in the maintenance and development of Mosquito Control's GIS program which includes creating, editing, and maintaining geographic information system layers using ESRI GIS technology, performing data analysis using GIS technologies, and producing a wide variety of maps, technical reports and related exhibits.
- Develops an understanding of basic GIS procedures and techniques specific to geodatabases.
- Assists departments in integrating GIS into process workflows.
- Coordinates changes to the GIS system with external vendors.
- Identifies GIS opportunities in existing mosquito control software and equipment.
- Supervised use of surveillance drone to capture mosquito breeding habitat and other operational needs.
Requirements: Must be at least 18 years of age by April 1, 2026, and have a valid Michigan driver's license with no more than 5 points on your record.
Experience: Experience with ArcPro and ArcGIS Online preferred.
Wages & Hours:
Starting wage for most first year employees is $15.25 to $15.50 per hour based on position.
Season begins late April and runs through the month of September. Full-time positions are available working up to 40 hours per week. Part-time positions are only available on the night shift.
