Under the direction of the Philanthropy leader, is responsible for creating and growing an effective annual giving program and a supporting database which further the mission of the organization and meet annual strategic goals.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Administers and oversees multiple direct mail projects, data cleansing and manipulation, statistical reporting and analysis, mailing list management, and donor/prospect research and relationship management.
Develops a comprehensive annual giving program, including strategies to incorporate target groups, e-campaigns, focus on new donors, and increasing average gift amounts.
Allocates organization's resources to maximize collaboration, efficiency and creativity in the creation, growth and maintenance of annual giving program.
Ensures quality, financial, and customer service objectives are met.
Works closely with the department staff to develop fundraising strategies and integrate with organization-wide initiatives. Annual giving strategies to build a strong base of annual support may include organizing direct mail campaigns, special projects and internal/external events, employee appeals and grateful patient programs.
Responsible for planning and implementing multiple direct mail appeals annually, with a high degree of customization and emotional appeal. Involves working with printers, mail-fulfillment vendors, and key staff. Works with internal resources to develop theme and artistic concept.
Serves as an active prospect identifier, targeting prospects for personal visits and moving annual donors through the donor pyramid into the next giving level. Makes creative connections between and among people, events, programs, and their associated circles. Responsible for ensuring the accuracy and integrity of the data.
Oversees budgets, progress, deadlines, goals and objectives related to department and responsibilities.
Responsible for management and evaluation of annual giving staff.
Conducts annual evaluations of annual giving staff.
Fosters smoothly running development services through timely and effective resolution of disruptions.
Ensures that all development activities and operations are carried out in compliance with local, state, federal, and governmental regulations and laws and industry standards.
Performs other related duties as required and directed.
QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED
Associate's degree in business, public relations, communications, or relevant field.
Minimum of 5 years of professional work experience in development, annual giving, business or technical writing, communications, media relations, or related field.
QUALIFICATIONS PREFERRED
Bachelor's degree in business, public relations, communications or relevant field.
Experience in a non-profit or healthcare fundraising setting.
