Job Title: Product Design Engineer (ref. #6004)

Duties: Support different original equipment manufacturers (OEMs) located in US (Ford, GM, Stellantis) on the acquisition of new projects for extruded aluminum alloys products solutions with a focus on, including, but not limited to: crash-management-structures, body in white (BIW) structures, and battery-enclosures. Design and develop automotive products by extraction of necessary information from OEM requirements and using understanding of aluminum products & materials and aluminum extrusion and other manufacturing processes for Design for Manufacturing (DFM). Create and/or modify 3D CAD and drawings. Perform change management in Product Life Management (PLM) software. Support Manufacturing plant with Engineering changes and support sub-suppliers with data transfer.
May work from anywhere within commuting distance; travel to the office when required.
Requirements: Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field plus 2 years of experience. Required skill set: Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T); CATIA CAD; aluminum products & materials; aluminum extrusion and other manufacturing processes; change management Product Life Management; regulatory requirements and crash testing; component testing; root cause analysis and problem solving. The required skill set do not need to be maintained over the full term of the required experience.
