Your responsibilities
Job Summary
The Purchasing Assistant II compiles and maintains information and records to prepare purchase orders. Edits purchase requests and prepares purchase orders. Consults catalogs and other references to obtain prices and specifications and maintains files and records of materials, prices, inventories and deliveries.Job Description
Key Accountabilities:
Obtains and verifies vendor acknowledgements
Responds to sales with purchase order updates, date changes or delays
Proactively assists with purchase order updates - costs and delivery dates
Reconciles unbalanced invoices, working with buyers as needed.
Works closely with receiving department to provide paperwork as needed
Establishes relationships with vendor inside sales contacts
Assists with consignment management and system updates
Locates and verify inventory discrepancies
Reviews and assist with receiving related issues (i.e. reclassify material)
Prepares and submit necessary inventory adjustments
Coordinates all activities related to job works (i.e. tracking paperwork, following up on purchase orders and subcontracting orders, monitoring stock; transfer posting)
Assists quality assurance in activities related to credits
Communicates with purchasing on all activities related to defective material (i.e. entering defective material reports, contacting the mill, sending samples)
Communicates effectively with both internal customers and the supply base

Qualifications:
Minimum Requirements:
High School Diploma or equivalent (GED)
Two (2) - 4 (four) years of relevant experience
Proficient knowledge of MS Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook)
Strong interpersonal skills necessary to effectively communicate and work on day-to-day basis with purchasing mill contacts and internal customers.
