What you will do -
As a Senior Manufacturing Engineer, you will focus on sustaining existing processes, increasing capacity, reducing scrap, improving safety, and implementing process improvements in a medical device CNC machining manufacturing environment.
Essential functions:
Sustain existing manufacturing processes for existing products through the resolution of issues such as improper setups, tooling obsolescence, and expired workholding/fixturing
Ensure manufacturing processes run consistently and meet performance targets for costs, efficiency, and manufacturing loss (scrap)
Drive continuous improvements for processes to improve overall equipment effectiveness (OEE), reduce manufacturing loss (scrap), and provide cost savings
Lead engineering projects and track project progress, present periodic status updates to key stakeholders and work to resolve obstacles
Design, build and/or purchase fixtures, equipment, and tools as needed to increase efficiency, ergonomics, safety, and quality
Provide support toward procurement of equipment & tooling
Collaborate with other engineers to analyze manufacturing/assembly issues and identify, test and implement the most effective solutions in a timely manner
Conduct equipment and process validations, qualifications and verifications
Drive process changes by initiating, executing and reviewing change management activities related to day to day business activities
Collaborate with cross functional teams to transfer new products into production by providing recommendations regarding product design and manufacturing processes
Collaborate with maintenance personnel on the repair of complex equipment to maintain the validated state of the equipment and its release to production.
What you need-
Bachelor's degree in engineering required, preference of concentration in manufacturing, mechanical, electrical, or industrial
2+ years of engineering experience required
Experience with CNC machining (lathe, mill, grinder, EDM)
Mechanical/electrical problem-solving skills
Proven ability to handle multiple projects and meet deadlines
Experience with continuous process improvement and applying lean manufacturing techniques -preferred
Medical device or other highly regulated industry experience -preferred
CAD experience (CREO, SolidWorks) -preferred
