Job Title: Engineer Team Leader
Job Description
This position is for a Team Lead overseeing the Materials Testing Group, consisting of 2 Engineers and 5 Technicians. This is a new initiative due to the relocation of lab operations. The Team Leader will manage daily operations and testing with a focus on plastic and composite products across diverse industries. The role involves utilizing equipment such as Instrons, flammability and environmental chambers, ovens, impact testers, presses, saws, and various prep equipment.
Responsibilities
Provide day-to-day supervision of Engineers and Technicians, including assigning and overseeing work, training, coaching, and mentoring staff.
Manage employee issues, conduct performance reviews, and ensure employee development.
Ensure compliance with Quality Management System and all other policies and procedures.
Perform testing and evaluation on a variety of products, write reports, and communicate with clients.
Provide local expertise in one or more product categories and support sales with quoting and client meetings.
Responsible for manpower requirements, projections, and utilization.
Ensure housekeeping, equipment calibration, and supply management.
Maintain efficiency and productivity, and ensure timely invoicing.
Assist with P&L management, including forecasting and cost management.
Essential Skills
Bachelor's degree in a directly related engineering field.
4+ years of directly related experience, including testing and project management.
Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
Ability to interpret technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form.
Capability to handle abstract and concrete variables.
Ability to make technical decisions and engineering judgments independently.
Self-motivated with the ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment.

Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $90000.00 - $100000.00/yr.
