Position Overview
We are seeking a motivated CNC Robotics Operator / Process Improvement Lead who is ready to take on a hybrid role supporting daily production while leading efforts to improve efficiency, work flow, quality, and up time. This role blends hands-on robot and CNC equipment operation with structured problem solving, documentation, and process optimization.
What You'll Do
Robotic & Production Responsibilities
- Operate robotic systems and CNC machinery for laser cladding and laser heat treating.
- Set up fixtures, run dry cycles, and execute laser processes with accuracy.
- Inspect, package, and prepare parts before and after processing.
- Troubleshoot machine issues and escalate as needed.
- Perform routine PMs and maintain clean work areas.
- Complete job travelers, quality sheets, and digital documentation.
Process Improvement Responsibilities
- Identify bottlenecks, waste, and rework opportunities across operations.
- Create and update standardized work instructions, process sheets, and checklists.
- Support new job onboarding, fixturing improvements, and layout optimization.
- Assist with data collection, analysis, and reporting for production metrics.
- Collaborate with leadership to implement Lean/CI improvements.
- Train team members on updated processes and best practices.
- Support quoting and job planning with technical insight.
What We're Looking For
- High school diploma or equivalent (required).
- Experience in manufacturing, machining, robotics, or related environment.
- Strong mechanical aptitude and process-focused mindset.
- Comfortable using hand tools and shop equipment.
- CNC or robot operation experience preferred.
- Strong computer skills (Excel, Word, email).
- Excellent communication skills.
- Ability to work independently with high accountability.
- CAD or CAM knowledge is a plus.
