The Account Specialist is primarily focused on leading the renewal for existing accounts during renewal window. The account specialist will have strong relationships with our customer success and sales teams to help ensure a great experience for our clients while mitigating risk.
About the Role:
Responsibilities
Own the end-to-end renewal process for a portfolio of customers
Manage quoting, contract execution, and renewal forecasting
Identify and execute low-complexity upsell and cross-sell opportunities
Respond to inbound commercial inquiries and route complex opportunities appropriately
Partner with CSMs to align renewal timing with customer value realization
Collaborate with Finance and Legal to ensure smooth processing of commercial transactions
Daily Activities
Renewal Management: Drive timely and accurate renewals by managing quotes, contracts, and customer communications, ensuring a seamless experience
Commercial Execution: Handle inbound commercial requests, identify small-scale upsell opportunities, and support pricing discussions in collaboration with CSMs & Sales
Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with CSMs, Sales, Finance, and Legal to align on customer strategy, pricing, and contract terms
Data & Forecasting: Maintain accurate renewal forecasts, update CRM records, and ensure visibility into commercial performance
Customer Communication: Engage with customers to confirm renewal intent, clarify terms, and ensure commercial alignment with their evolving needs
Key Metrics
Renewal & Retention: Percentage of contracts successfully renewed and customers retained within assigned accounts
Cross-Sales & Upsells: Revenue generated from low-complexity upsell and cross-sell opportunities identified and executed through the renewal process
About You:
Education & Experience
Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, or a related field (or relevant experience)
2+ years in account management, renewals, inside sales, or customer-facing roles, preferably in a SaaS or recurring revenue environment
Skills & Attributes
Strong commercial acumen and negotiation skills
Excellent communication and relationship management abilities
Highly organized with attention to detail and follow-through
Proficient in CRM and quoting tools (e.g., Salesforce, CPQ platforms)
Comfortable working cross-functionally and managing multiple priorities
