The PRS simulation and analysis Engineer is responsible for using and developing proprietary frameworks and codes to analyze efficiency of Electrified Propulsion Technologyusing several metrics and KPIs (vehicle range, energy consumption, fuel economy, acceleration, power and towing capability, gradeability, charging rates)
Additional responsibilities include:
Modeling activities including using first principles to develop high level models and features.
Integration of basic or advanced control logics governing the behavior of the physical portion of the models embedded into the vehicle applications.
Creating and using pre-processing and post-processing tools and provide support to resolve issues connected to the utilization of the proprietary frameworks and codes
Communicating of the results in oral presentations and written reports to Chief Engineers, COEs, Component Engineers and others including Powertrain management is required and a must
Basic Qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree in Electrical, Mechanical, or Computer Engineering or related degree field
Minimum2 years of experience in product development (preferably in the automotive area) simulating hybrid and/or electrified propulsion systems
Thorough knowledge of the English language including both written and oral communication
Familiaritywith MATLAB, SIMULINK
Thorough knowledge of Microsoft or Google office products
Strongly Preferred Qualifications:
Thorough knowledge of vehicle Propulsion Systems including transmissions, axles, drivelines, batteries, and eMotors
Thorough knowledge in the disciplines of hybrid control strategies or energy management optimization
Thorough knowledge of commercial coding SW including, but not limited to, MATLAB /Simulink, Stateflow, and Simulink coder, GT Suite, AMESim
General knowledge in the disciplines of fluid dynamics and heat transfer
