What you can expect to work on…
The Ac-225 Team Lead will take a leading role in scaling up Ac-225 radiochemical manufacturing processes, optimizing production workflows, and supporting transfer of technical knowledge across Niowave’s MS&T and Production functions.
- Lead Ac-225 scale-up and process improvement projects, ensuring technical robustness and reproducibility
- Support cGMP readiness and process qualification for Ac-225 chemical manufacturing operations
- Collaborate with the Production, Quality, and Engineering teams to ensure successful implementation of Ac-225 process improvements
- Conduct troubleshooting and root cause analysis for production and MS&T issues
- Maintain compliance with all cGMP and radiation safety procedures
- Support preparation and review of technical documentation including SOPs, batch records, process descriptions, and validation protocols
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives to increase yield, purity, and process control
- Provide day-to-day technical and operational guidance to MS&T team members in partnership with leadership
- Serve as a mentor and coach to early career scientists and technicians, fostering a positive learning culture
- Coordinate onboarding, training, and competency assessments in collaboration with Training Specialists & Supervisor
What you need to succeed…
- Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, or related field

- 5 years’ experience operating in a cGMP manufacturing environment
- 3 years’ experience with radioactive materials and/or in a cGMP environment
- 2+ years’ experience of progressive technical leadership and mentoring team members
Great to have…
- Master’s degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering or related field
- Experience with radioisotope or API manufacturing in a cGMP space
- Experience with chromatography separation, liquid/solid extraction, electrochemistry or amalgamation/cementation processes is an asset
- 7+ years’ experience working with the following:
- Pharmaceutical environment
- Radioactive materials
- cGMP regulated environment
- Hands-on experience utilizing lean manufacturing principles for continuous process improvements (Six Sigma, Lean Manufacturing, 5S)
- Familiarity with process transfer or scale-up between R&D and cGMP manufacturing
- Prior experience managing or supervising technical staff
Other things to know…
- Full-time position
- The company’s standard operating hours are Monday thru Friday 6:00 a.m. – 6:00 p.m. with production related activities requiring 24/7/365 shifts
- This position will have regular working hours Monday-Friday with an expectation of adjusting to meet with staff working outside of the standard operating hours
- Niowave has multiple locations within the Lansing area and travel between locations is expected in the role
