The Watersmeet School District is seeking a dedicated and skilled Therapeutic Behavior Support Classroom (TBSC) Teacher to provide intensive behavioral and academic interventions for students in grades Kindergarten through 8th grade (K-8). The primary goal of the TBSC program is to equip students with the social, emotional, and behavioral skills necessary for successful and safe inclusion in the General Education environment.
Position Objective & Program Overview:
The TBSC Teacher plays a critical role in developing and implementing a high-quality, evidence-based program for students with the most intensive behavior challenges. The teacher will manage a self-contained classroom with the support of a paraprofessional, focusing on specially designed instruction, an accommodated or modified grade-level curriculum, Social/Emotional Learning, and consistent behavior intervention.
The core objective is to ensure that students who present with severe behavioral issues are safely educated and have opportunities for growth toward inclusion with their age and grade-level peers.
