Job Summary
To keep all plant machinery and mechanical equipment in good repair, to examine machines, diagnose issues, replace defective parts, and make necessary adjustments to ensure efficient operation.
Essential Job Functions
- Complete preventative maintenance on machinery using diagrams, operation manuals, manufacturer’s instructions, and engineering specifications.
- Install new equipment.
- Observe mechanical devices in operation using precision testing and measuring instruments, and locate sources of problems.
- Use hoists, cranes, and power tools to move equipment.
- Control downtime of equipment by creating and communicating a preventative maintenance schedule.
- Fabricate parts to use in repairs.
- Maintain and grow technical knowledge by attending educational workshops and training, reviewing technical publications, and building a professional network.
- Document and communicate observed actions, irregularities, and continuing needs.
- Other duties include housekeeping to ensure a safe and productive working atmosphere, and others specified by supervision.
Job Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- 2 years of technical training and a minimum of 1 year of experience or equivalent.
- Ability to read and interpret documents and follow in-depth oral and written instructions.
- Basic electrical knowledge.
- Computer knowledge/background
