For over 20 years, Tri-Clor, Inc. has specialized in custom fabrication processing, corrosion, and pollution control systems, and has developed into a worldwide supplier of custom FRP and dual laminate equipment.
We are looking to add a reliable, hands-on Water Jet Technician to our team. This role is essential to maintaining production flow, supporting shop operations, and ensuring high-quality parts are cut accurately and safely.
Position Overview
The Water Jet Technician is responsible for operating, maintaining, and troubleshooting the waterjet cutting system. This position requires strong mechanical aptitude, attention to detail, and the ability to work safely in a fast-paced industrial environment.
Key Responsibilities
Waterjet Operation
- Set up jobs, load materials (FRP, thermoplastics, carbon fiber, silicone carbide, etc.), and run cutting programs
- Read job travelers, prints, and cut lists to ensure accuracy
- Monitor machine during cutting; adjust feed rates, pressures, and offsets as needed
- Stage raw materials and organize cut parts for downstream departments
Maintenance & Upkeep
- Perform daily, weekly, and monthly maintenance on the waterjet system
- Empty garnet drums, monitor abrasive feed, and maintain cleanliness around the unit
- Inspect and replace consumables (nozzles, orifices, hoses, filters)
- Notify supervisor of any mechanical issues or upcoming repairs
Quality & Safety
- Verify part measurements and tolerances
- Follow all shop safety procedures and PPE requirements
- Maintain accurate production logs and communicate job status
- Keep the work area clean, organized, and free of hazards
General Shop Support
- Assist with material handling, palletizing, and staging when needed
- Work cooperatively with welders, laminators, and supervisors to meet production deadlines
- Maintain a positive and team-oriented attitude
Qualifications
Required:
- Mechanical aptitude and comfort using industrial tools/equipment
- Ability to measure accurately (tapes, calipers, gauges)
- Ability to lift 50+ lbs and stand for extended periods
- Reliability, punctuality, and willingness to learn
Preferred:
- Experience with waterjet cutting systems (WardJet, OMAX, or similar)
- Experience working with fiberglass or composite materials
- Forklift certification or willingness to become certified
- Basic computer skills (loading programs, entering job notes, etc.)
Starting wages will be set based on experience and skill level.
Entry level to experienced. Hours include 6:00 A.M. to 4:30 P.M. Monday - Thursday. Overtime will be available and required when necessary.
