Summary:
The CNC Lathe Operator will be responsible for setting up, operating, and maintaining CNC lathe machines to produce precision components according to engineering specifications and quality standards. This role requires technical expertise, attention to detail, and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
Responsibilities and Duties:
- Set up and operate CNC lathe machines to perform precision machining operations.
- Read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and specifications to determine machining requirements.
- Select and install appropriate tooling and fixtures for each job.
- Monitor machine operations to ensure quality and consistency of produced parts.
- Perform routine maintenance and troubleshooting on CNC lathe machines.
- Conduct inspections and measurements of machined parts to ensure they meet specifications.
- Adjust machine settings to correct any deviations or quality issues.
- Document and report production data, including quantities produced, machine performance, and any issues encountered.
- Collaborate with engineers, programmers, and other team members to optimize machining processes.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area.
- Follow all safety protocols and procedures to ensure a safe working environment.
- Willingness to learn or train in the position.
- Must have the physical and mental stamina to stand, walk, lift, and adjust to the noise and lighting of the manufacturing environment.
- Other duties as assigned and not limited to just the above.
Skills and Abilities:
- Strong Proven experience as a CNC lathe operator or in a similar role.
- Proficiency in reading and interpreting engineering drawings and blueprints.
- Strong understanding of CNC lathe machine operations and tooling.
- Experience with programming and troubleshooting CNC lathe machines.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Knowledge of safety standards and protocols in a manufacturing setting.
- Flexibility to work various shifts and overtime as needed.
Education and Experience:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Minimum of 1 year experience

This position typically does not require travel.
