Job Title: Small Company Controller / Bookkeeper

Overview: We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Small Company Controller / Bookkeeper to manage the full spectrum of accounting operations for a growing organization. This role is ideal for a hands-on professional who thrives in a small business environment and is comfortable balancing transactional duties with strategic financial oversight.
Responsibilities:
Daily / Weekly:
Process supplier and customer invoices
Manage cash receipts and banking transactions
Reconcile credit card purchases
Track and enter commission invoices
Conduct weekly accounts receivable collections
Process credit applications and verify trade references
Handle product return claims and coordinate credit memos
Maintain organized filing systems for accounting documentation
Bi-Weekly:
Coordinate payroll processing with external provider
Collect and enter employee timesheets, vacation, and sick time
Monitor bank accounts for scheduled withdrawals
Monthly:
Prepare financial certificates and reports for banking partners
Submit operational reports to external vendors
Record and reconcile loan payments and mortgage activity
Process payments to contractors and reconcile commissions
Perform month-end close and update internal financial tracking tools
Quarterly:
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred
Minimum 5 years of experience in bookkeeping or controller role
Strong understanding of GAAP and financial reporting
Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Excel
Excellent organizational and time management skills
Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities
